KILLER CUTTHROAT SPADES TOURNAMENT OF THE KNOWN GALAXY RULES!
- Spades are always trumps.
- Determining who deals and who keeps score:
- The cards are dealt out face up. The person receiving the first Jack will deal the first hand.
- The person sitting directly across from the person who "wins the deal" will keep score.
- The person to the right of the dealer cuts the cards.
- The person to the left of the dealer bids first.
- The person to the left of the dealer leads the first trick. Spades cannot be led until they are "broken."
- Scoring
- If you make your bid exactly, it is worth the number of tricks bid X 10. Ex. You bid 3 and make 3, you get 30 points.
- If you do not win enough tricks to make your bid, you go set and it is worth the number of tricks bid X 10 X (-1). Ex. You bid 3 and make 2, you go set -30 points.
- If you take tricks in excess of what you bid, each over trick is worth 10 points off of your score. Ex. You bid 3 and make 4, you get 30 points -10 points
for 20 points.
- Nil bids
- If you bid 0 and take 0 tricks, it is worth 100 points.
- If you bid 0 and take 1 or more tricks, it is worth -100 points (set).
- The game is ended when one of the players passes 250 points and is not tied
with another player. Ex. Player number 1 has a score of 260 points, he wins the game if no ties or exceeds this score.
- If a person is caught reneging (not following suit when he/she has a card of
that suit in his/her hand during the play of a trick) by another player on the table, the person who reneges goes set for his/her bid and all of the rest of the players on the table make their bid.
- The Winner of each game will go on to the next round of competition. The
names and scores of each winner must be reported to the head of the cards tournament or to his assistant at the end of each game.
- In the event that one of the winning players of a round will be unable to play the rest of the tournament, the head of the spades tournament, Mark Paulk,
will assign an alternate to complete the competition.
- In the case of disagreements, the head of the spades tournament, Mark Paulk, will make the decision. His decision is final.
