Hans G. Schantz

Hans G. Schantz

     Scientist / Author

A theoretical physicist by training, Hans G. Schantz discovered how bound or reactive electromagnetic energy becomes radiation and vice versa. He parlayed his scientific expertise into a career as an inventor with more than 40 patents, and he co-founded Q-Track Corporation where he serves as CTO designing and selling indoor location systems that rely on low-frequency near-field wireless technology. He is the author of The Art and Science of Ultrawideband Antennas, and the science fiction techno-thriller, The Hidden Truth. Hans lives in Huntsville, Alabama with his wife, and two sets of twins.

Scheduled Programming Events Featuring Hans G. Schantz

Day Time Name of Event
Fri 01:00PM The Future History of Science and Technology

Future history has long been the realm of prophets, SF writers, and economists alike. Whether history repeats itself or merely rhymes, its ebb and flow may be described by Kondratiev Cycles, Anonymous Conservative's r/K selection theory, or Dr. Jim Penman's Biohistory. How do these historical cycles impact the development of science and technology? Dr. Schantz shows how scientific development oscillates between an Aristotelian phase in which new principles are identified and a Platonic phase in which the implications of those ideas are worked out. Arguing we now stand at peak Platonism, Dr. Schantz explains why he anticipates an imminent swing toward an Aristotelian phase and the profound opportunity this transition offers for lovers of liberty to shape not only culture and politics, but also to predict the future.
