Official Rules

1. Contest Sponsor: LibertyCon

 

1. Eligibility:

   1. To be eligible to participate (in each case as an “Eligible Participant”) in the LibertyCon 35th Anniversary Lapel Pin Art Contest (“Contest”), you must satisfy the following criteria:

      1. Be over age eighteen (18) years -or-

      2. Be age less than eighteen (18) and have a parent/legal guardian (“Guardian”) who is over eighteen (18) years of age and will provide parental consent to enter the Contest and grant the rights set forth herein.

   2. Participation constitutes full and unconditional agreement to, and acceptance of, these Official Rules. This Contest is subject to, and all Eligible Participants shall comply with, all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.

 

1. Contest Period:

   1. The Contest begins on February 10, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. EDT and ends on March 12, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. EST (“Contest Period”). The Sponsor’s time clock is the official clock for this Contest.

 

1. Entry into the Contest:

   1. To enter the Contest, complete the following steps:

      1. Email Entry to artcontest@libertycon.org

      2. Email must include:

         1. Full legal name

         2. Pen name (if you want to have the Entry attributed to that name)

         3. Contact email address

         4. Age

         5. If eighteen (18) or younger years, permission from Guardian for entry.

   2. Eligible Participants are limited to one (1) entry during the Contest Period,

   3. The Entry must:

      1. Depict the Eligible Participant’s interpretation of the theme “LibertyCon” (the “Theme”);

      2. Be an original work of art in any of the following media/formats: drawing, painting, mixed-media, or digital;

         1. No AI generated art will be accepted;

      3. Contain no more than three colors;

      4. Be able to be sized to one (1) inch to fit on the lapel pin

 

 

1. Be of an original artwork.

   1. Be emailed to artcontest@liberycon.org in a digital format, as either a .jpg or .png

   2. Have a maximum resolution of at least 2400 pixels x 2400 pixels,

   3. Have a maximum size of no more than 10 Mb.

2. Not contain copyrighted material;

3. Not contain threatening, offensive, or abusive material;

4. Be otherwise in full compliance with these Official Rules.

   1. Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. EST on March 12, 2023. All required Entry Information must be completed in full to be considered. Proof of delivery or receipt of any kind of Entry will not be deemed by Sponsors as proof of Entry. Any attempted form of Entry other than as described herein is void. Each Entry will be judged on the criteria set forth below. Entries that contain information that is not reasonably pertinent to the judging criteria (described below), as determined by Sponsors in its sole discretion, or is otherwise in violation of these Official Rules will be disqualified. As determined by Sponsor any Entry that includes obscenities, objectionable material, defames or invades the publicity or privacy rights of any person, living or deceased, or otherwise infringes upon any third party’s personal or proprietary rights, publicity rights, will be disqualified. Entries that are incomplete, illegible, or corrupted are void and will not be accepted. Normal time, toll, connection and usage rates, if any, charged by your Internet service provider will apply. For your Entry to be valid, you must acknowledge reading, accepting, and agreeing to all terms and conditions set forth in these Official Rules. All Entry Information is subject to Sponsors’ Privacy Policy.

 

1. Selection of Winners:

   1. Eligible Entries will be judged by Sponsors designated representative(s) (collectively “Judges”). All eligible Entries will be judged by the Judges, who will select one (1) winner. Entries will be judged based upon the following criteria: (1) creativity and originality, (2) quality and execution, (3) adherence to the Theme, and (4) overall impression.

 

1. Prizes:

   1. The following prize will be awarded to the winning Eligible Participant (“Winner”).

      1. One (1) LibertyCon 36 membership will be awarded to the Eligible Participant.

   2. Winner will be announced on April 23, 2023. The Entries of the Winner will be used as the design of the LibertyCon 35th Anniversary Lapel Pin, to be given out to all membership holders of LibertyCon 35 who attend in person.

 

 

1. Prize Award:

   1. The potential Winner will be contacted through the email address provided in the entry email. Sponsor may request, and potential Winner agrees to provide confirmation of parental permission/consent (if required), an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release covering eligibility, liability, advertising, publicity and media appearance issues, unless prohibited by law. The Prize will not be awarded until necessary information has been collected and all properly executed forms are returned (“Verification”). Upon completion of Verification, the potential Winner shall become the Winner.

 

1. Grant of Rights:

   1. Each Entrant grants usage of the chosen artwork only for display, marketing, and promotional purposes for this and any future LibertyCon sponsored conventions or events and that usage of that image is limited to LibertyCon press releases, event presentations, articles, graphics, slide shows, event materials, marketing materials, and for use on the LibertyCon website.

   2. LibertyCon will credit each image with their Artist Name and Image Name (if given).

   3. Otherwise, the Entrant shall maintain all copyrights of any images that are submitted to the Contest.

   4. Each Entrant grants LibertyCon a non-exclusive, perpetual license to reproduce images of the Entry for the purpose of advertising LibertyCon and Entrant’s work and, as a result of this marketing, sales. Further, the Entrant understands and agrees to no compensation will be paid for the inclusion of the artwork in marketing items or sales made therein.

 

1. Limitations of Liability and Release:

   1. No liability or responsibility is assumed by Sponsor or resulting from any Eligible Participant’s participation in or attempt to participate in the Contest. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical errors in the announcement of any Prize or these Official Rules. All Eligible Participants must have a valid email address. No responsibility or liability is assumed by the Sponsor or Contest Entities for technical problems or technical malfunction arising in connection with any of the following occurrences which may affect the operation of the Contest: hardware or software errors; faulty computer, telephone, television, cable, satellite, network, electronic, wireless or Internet connectivity or other online communication problems; errors or limitations of any Internet service providers, servers, Sponsors or providers; garbled, jumbled, or faulty data transmissions; failure of any email transmissions to be sent to or received; lost, late, delayed, or intercepted email transmissions; inaccessibility of the Website in whole or in part for any reason; traffic congestions on the Internet or the Website; unauthorized human or non-human intervention of the operation of the Contest, including without limitation, unauthorized tampering, hacking, theft, virus, bugs, worms; or destruction of any aspect of the Contest, or loss, miscount, misdirection, inaccessibility, or unavailability of an account used in connection with the Contest. By participating in the Contest, Eligible Participants agree to release and hold the Contest Entities harmless from any and all claims, damages, or liabilities arising from or relating to such Eligible Participant’s participation in the Contest including, without limitation, any use or misuse of the Prize. By accepting the Prize, Winner agrees to release, and hold the Sponsor harmless for any loss or injury including, without limitation, any personal injury or property damage resulting from participation in the Contest or acceptance or use/misuse of the Prize.

 

1. Publicity Release:

   1. Participation in the Contest and/or acceptance of the Prize constitutes permission for the Sponsor to use, without notice or further compensation, worldwide and in perpetuity, any Eligible Participant’s Entry, photo, likeness, biographical information, statement, and voice in any and all media for any purpose, including without limitation, advertising and promotional purposes as well as in, on or in connection with the Website or the Contest or other promotions, and Eligible Participant hereby releases the Contest Entities from any liability with respect thereto (each a “Publicity Release”).

 

1. General:

   1. By participating, Eligible Participants agree to these Official Rules and Sponsor’s Privacy Policy, which are final and binding in all respects. The Winner must comply with any and all requirements and limitations associated with the use of the Prize. If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned, the Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, modify, or suspend the Contest.
