Scott Bragg and Daniel Allen Butler will discuss how "cyberpunk" does not automatically equate to "dystopian grunge", though it is almost always presented as such. They will introduce the idea that any society that isn't a Utopia is automatically, by default and definition, a dystopia, and that all of the dynamics which drive dystopian grunge cyberpunk are equally present in a bright, shiny, well-groomed and seemingly affluent society.
