Necromantic Nights
The Nexus Book One
The Nexus has begun to quake. Is Creation having a problem?
The Nexus flows through everything. It feeds Creation. Many mages believe it’s the source of magic. All of Creation is rife with its power, and it manifests differently across worlds and dimensions; though some places are remarkably bereft of power, while others, like Rhedrin, overflow.
Shortly after Creation, when Light and Dark were in constant conflict and relatively few mortals existed, a force arose that threatened them all. It relished the destruction of everything. To ensure their survival, the Gods of the First Divine Court and their demonic counterparts worked together until It was defeated. The Celestial Accord was established to create a balance between Dark and Light, which allowed Creation to flourish.
Much time has passed. Creation has grown, and the events leading to the Celestial Accord are only remembered as myth.
The Inn, at the center of Rhedrin, is said to be a Nexus Point, where the chaotic nature underlying Creation is refined and poured into Ordered Reality to sustain it.
It is The Inn that Kairee, an arch mage, found some years ago and claimed as her own. It is here that she delves into the secrets of Creation and the mysteries of magic. The Inn and Rhedrin proved very stable, unlike other Nexus Points that burst forth, geyser-like, with arcane energies, only to collapse back into themselves. It attracts a wide assortment of beings. Adventurers and heroes, fae folk and the magically attuned, from the good to the darkly-dark, even mere mortals find their way to The Inn, whether by choice or accident.
Of all the gin joints in all the dimensions of All Creation, truly unexpected people walked into Kairee’s Inn on the heels of a major quake. As the quakes continue, is this Nexus Point about to collapse? Do a severed arm, a failed burglary, and representatives of the Divine Court have anything to do with it?
Is Creation imperiled once again?
