Artist

An "always been", self-taught artist,  encouraged from an early age by loving aunt who sent Foster aet books, supplies, and new adventures in art. A margin doodler, no art class until.junior year at Opelika  , became a high school PBS student of William Alexander, Helen Van Wyck,  that Japanese toll painting guy , the watercolor guy and others. These were my after-school classroom people for art. I grew up loving classic Science Fiction and fantasy, as well as early horror Edgar Allan Poe and others. And movies! especially films from Willis O'Brien, forward to George Pal, on to Kubrick, Lucas, Spielberg, Terry Gilliam and more.

35 years ago, I stepped into the relm of acrylic painting and the Cthulhu Mythos. The very early website, Gates of Yith, hosted on free servers is still hanging around after more than 30 years. 20 years ago after the death of husband John, I helped a friend open a game store and  within 2 years became a professional builder of terrain and scenery for tabletop games of many genres and systems. A 20-year career which is still holding on, even in the difficult Economic Times for the past 5 years.

Today still a gamer, and painter, and terrain artisan, the past 4 years, I have added teaching art two afternoons a week, as an ad hoc self-taught on the job trained volunteer with an after-school program. Instructing youngsters ages 4 to 12 has encouraged stepping back into the video classroom and discovering a wealth of instruction from elementary to college level.

Because of my involvement with the program I've also painted and drawn more in the past 4 years than I was able to accomplish in the previous 20 when it was constantly building miniature scenery and environments for games.

Still juggling all three.
