Karin's introduction to Science Fiction Conventions in 2002, inspired her to design costumes for herself, winning awards including two DragonCon Masquerade awards for Best Fantasy, Best Journeyman Award and Best in Show at ChattaCon.
In 2019 Karin joined the Corner Scribblers writer's group and was inspired to start writing.
