Writing in and for Games

Brian Urbanek will talk about the games industry and how it thinks about narrative, writing, and IPs. This talk is aimed at aspiring and published writers that want to understand what’s involved in either writing for a game, or to understand what game developers look for in an IP.
Topics will include a review of how famous IPs like Lord of the Rings and Star Wars have been adapted into video games, the importance of themes over a particular story, and evocative setting elements over characters.
